Investment process
Six stages. No exceptions. Every stage documented.
The same pathway applies to every opportunity Aurora considers, regardless of size, sector or origin. The process exists to make our reasoning reviewable — by our Committee, our investors, and our auditors.
Origination
Proprietary sourcing through the partnership's network, government and industry relationships, and selective adviser channels. Inbound submissions are screened against mandate fit.
Preliminary review
Commercial logic, jurisdiction, counterparty integrity, sanctions and reputational screening, and an initial view on whether the asset can reach institutional governance standard.
Due diligence
Parallel technical, legal, financial, tax, insurance and ESG workstreams with independent advisers. Assumptions are tested, sensitivities modelled and gaps explicitly listed.
Investment Committee
Independent challenge of the investment case. The Committee may approve, decline, or approve subject to conditions. Dissent and conditions are minuted.
Execution
Structuring, documentation, security perfection, conditions precedent, funding mechanics and completion. Four-eyes authorisation applies to all capital movement.
Stewardship
Ongoing covenant and performance monitoring, valuation cycles, investor reporting, board or observer representation and disciplined exit or refinance planning.
Indicative timeframes.
Indicative only. Actual timeframes vary materially by sector, jurisdiction and transaction complexity.
